I.M. LOST! is a play I wrote based on interviews with clowns (birthday clowns, hospital clowns, clown teachers), clown games, and my own experience with clown training. I have performed it at Princeton, Dixon Place, and Theater for the New City. I’ve also taught clown workshops through the Princeton Office of Religious Life and the Trenton Youth Leadership Development Program.
“Less of a clown show and more of a Bildungsroman narrative about schadenfreude, an exploration of the painful process of finding one’s voice in an industry that focuses on trying to make other people happy, sometimes at the expense of oneself […] In creating this show, Ellis-Einhorn is able to make it worthwhile— she has found her voice and transforms her and other clowns’ experiences with courage and honesty.”

clown teaching
The Princeton Office of Religious Life employed me to teach a clown workshop for students on November 9th, 2016 in the Princeton Chapel. They then brought me back for additional workshops on April 7th, 2017 and January 18, 2022. I also expanded this clown teaching work in partnership with the Trenton Youth Leadership Development Program.
